about the
regional care adviser
My name is Karen Wetherick and I have
taken over from Jean Covington as the Regional Care Advisor for
Hampshire, Dorset, Isle of Wight and Channel Islands. I am a
nurse by background and worked for the NHS for the last 22
years, mainly in District Nursing and Management.
I am currently familiarising myself with
my geographical area and also working closely with Clare Erridge,
the Southampton care Centre Coordinator to identify what
services are available for people with MND.
I have had the opportunity to meet with a
number of people affected by MND at Branch support Groups and
Coffee meetings and hope to continue to attend these wherever
possible.
I am also building links with Health and
Social Care professionals in North Hants and hope to set up a
Special Interest Group in the area later in the year. The
purpose of this is to improve communication and also provide a
forum for professionals to share their expertise and knowledge
of MND, and raise awareness.
